Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
