British Player Secures a £26 Million Euro Millions Jackpot
An individual UK participant has won the twenty-six million pound European lottery grand prize, the National Lottery have confirmed.
The successful digits drawn on the Friday draw were 06, 12, 18, 25 and 41, with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 06.
This marks the third Euro Millions grand prize won in the Britain so far this year out of the ten conducted to date.
In January, a single player won £83m, subsequently a £65m Valentine's win. The two successful players decided to be anonymous.
Nevertheless, the successful player of the Saturday £10.6 million National Lottery top prize has still not appeared.
A senior winners' adviser advised participants to check carefully to verify their entries and electronic messages.
The lucky Lotto combination for last Saturday were: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59 and the additional digit was 42.
"We will be on hand to give advice and offer access to professional advisors who can help winners make the most of the win for them and family and friends," the adviser commented.
The EuroMillions jackpot will be checked against the official rules, and when validated, the jackpot recipient will determine whether to reveal their identity.
Even with granting them vast wealth, the recent win of £26 million does not put the winner among the biggest EuroMillions jackpot winners.
A prize of over 183 million pounds would have been necessary to secure a place in the leading ten of largest wins.
The largest win won by a British participant is £195 million in two years ago, according to EuroMillions.
Although it is challenging to hit the prize, it is easier than one might imagine to miss out on the winnings.
An individual failed to claim a one million pound jackpot in the previous year after failing to claim a EuroMillions prize within the 180-day claim period, meaning the cash was redirected to charitable causes.
The biggest lottery win to remain unclaimed in the United Kingdom was £63.8 million in the summer of 2012.
The EuroMillions game is takes place every twice weekly across multiple European states.
