The families of teens unaccounted for after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an painful period of uncertainty for confirmed information and pleading for clues about their family members via social media.

The fire ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Verified images reveal the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the fatalities of the fire, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. A spokesperson noted on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with work ongoing to locate the final individuals.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been taking to the internet to appeal for any news about their missing relatives who were in attendance that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of Lutry near the city, informed a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the same in Bern, but could not find him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's terrible," she said.

She added that some of his companions had been found with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they experienced hell."

The Italy's government has indicated that a number of of its young people have not been located.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on New Year's Eve, his father said.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Genoa but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, paying tribute to a "talented young man who represented passion and true sportsmanship."

His parent, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An representative has indicated that a official announcement of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent said that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the venue.

"A companion informed me they ran away after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he they were separated," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his good nature and smile, combined with great responsibility. Often offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has shared an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
