Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the talented cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards during the ceremony.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by experts.
