Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News

Skydance Paramount will start significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are expected, as the firm planning to reveal complete information during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by early November.

Until December 2024, the company retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
