The Fifth Toy Story Film Teaser Pits Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story movie debuted, establishing the animation giant as a major animation studio and introducing audiences to beloved characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — getting a latest plaything, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
An element the trailer avoids is why the sheriff is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a carnival and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?
Connections from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before departing for his new life was hand over his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), leaving her in charge of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser displays the insignia attached to her outfit.
Hopefully she is still the driving force among the group.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
