In a fresh conversation marking his initial three months in his position, the official Windrush representative voiced alarm that Black Britons are beginning to question whether the United Kingdom is "going backwards."

Increasing Worries About Migration Discussions

The Rev Clive Foster explained that those affected by Windrush are wondering if "similar patterns are emerging" as British lawmakers increasingly target documented residents.

"I refuse to be part of a country where I'm treated as if I'm an outsider," Foster added.

Widespread Consultation

Since assuming his role in June, the representative has engaged with approximately 700 survivors during a nationwide visit throughout the country.

This week, the interior ministry disclosed it had implemented a range of his recommendations for overhauling the ineffective Windrush payment program.

Demand for Impact Assessment

The commissioner is advocating for "comprehensive evaluation" of any suggested modifications to migration rules to ensure there is "adequate comprehension of the personal consequences."

The commissioner indicated that legislation may be required to guarantee no future government rowed back on assurances made in the wake of the Windrush controversy.
